Berlin in Lights-Festival in New York

17th FilmFestival Cottbus: Leading festival of East European Cinema

Under the motto "after YU," Brandenburg's FilmFestival Cottbus focuses on everyday life and visions in the countries that emerged from the former Yugoslavia. At the festival a total of 80 films from 25 countries will be shown for the competition; ten films are from ten Eastern European countries. As the most important festival for Eastern European films, the event serves as a meeting place for producers, editors, financers and distributors from Western and Eastern Europe, and is being sponsored by Medienboard. Connecting Cottbus paving the way for co-productions

interfilm: 23rd International Short Film Festival in Berlin

Minister of Culture and Media confers German Short Film Award in Potsdam

Of the 243 films entered, ten films have been nominated for the German Short Film Award, which will be conferred by Bernd Neumann, German Minister of Culture and Media, at Babelsberg's Konrad Wolf Academy for Film and Television. Cartoon Masters: The international animation scene in Potsdam

Steinmeier and Clement at the 5th European Television Dialogue

German Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier will open the European Television Dialogue, which after Munich and Budapest takes place this year in Berlin. European film composers in concert in Berlin

Berlin-Brandenburg at the 6th Festival of German Films in Moscow
(December 5-9, 2007, Moscow)
Nine German feature films, two documentaries, a TV movie, a children’s film, the short film roll NEXT GENERATION and three further short films will be shown at the 6th Festival of German Films. Two of the films are from Germany’s capital region: Christian Petzold’s Berlinale prize winner "Yella" and Volker Schlöndorff’s Cannes entry "Ulzhan." In the framework of the festival, a co-producers meeting with German and Russian producers and distributors is planned. The festival is organized by German Films Service and Marketing GmbH.
