Writer, game designer and filmmaker Jordan Mechner is one of the videogame industry's most respected creators; His games, including Karateka, Prince of Persia, and The Last Express, have sold millions of copies and received worldwide critical acclaim.  His film Chavez Ravine was named Best Short Documentary by the International Documentary Association and was short-listed for an Academy Award.

Mechner joined forces with Ubisoft Entertainment to successfully relaunch the Prince of Persia franchise in 2003 with The Sands of Time.  His current projects include the upcoming Jerry Bruckheimer/Walt Disney Pictures feature film Prince of Persia, and a Prince of Persia graphic novel to be published by First Second Books.

Mechner was born in New York and received his B.A. from Yale University.  He lives in Los Angeles.
