Forecasts call for growth: 6th medien.barometer berlinbrandenburg
More than two thirds (67%) of the media companies in Germany’s capital region are satisfied with their business and expect growing turnover in Berlin-Brandenburg (62%, previous year 54.2%). This was the result of the current and 6th edition of the sector survey medien.barometer berlinbrandenburg that is carried out regularly on behalf of Medienboard and media.net. The strongest rates of satisfaction are in the sectors multimedia/internet (85%), PR (85%), mobile (75%) and games (73%). Order at marketing@medienboard.de (in German).

2nd Connections Europe Conference in Berlin

Over 300 international visitors are expected to attend the second annual conference Connections Europe in Berlin. Berlin-Brandenburg in Moscow
Volker Schlöndorff ("Ulzhan") and Maria Speth ("Madonnas") among others are traveling to Moscow for the 6th Festival of German Films. The opening film is Martin Gypken’s "Nothing But Ghosts" based on the bestseller from Judith Hermann. In the framework of the festival, German and Russian producers, distributors and funding institutions will meet, among them Kirsten Niehuus (Medienboard), Peter Dinges (FFA), Manfred Schmidt (MDM) and Sergej W. Berlin-Brandenburg in Sundance

Three films supported by Medienboard will be shown at the Sundance Film Festival: Dennis Gansel’s film based on the young-adult bestseller "The Wave" from American author Morton Rhue starring Jürgen Vogel and Christiane Paul, and Jan Schütte’s "Love comes Lately" are both in the competition; Veit Helmer’s "Absurdistan" is a guest in the Spectrum series.
