AiR Berlin - Tel Aviv (Israel) - 3 Months

The Medienboard and the city ofTel Aviv have established a Artist-in-Residency partnership. It offers a German filmmaker a three-month residency in Tel Aviv and an Israeli filmmaker a three-month residency in Berlin. The residencies are meant to enable free creative time as well as the possibility to gain insight into the respective local film industries and make new contacts.

The residency includes travel expenses and accommodation, as well as a cash allowance of € 1,200 per month. Fellows will receive professional support as needed and networking possibilities within the local film industry. The partner in Israel is the Israel Film Fund.

The stay in Berlin is organised and managed by the Nipkow Program.

The Medienboard and the Rome-Lazio Film Commission have established a Artist-in-Residency partnership. It offers a German filmmaker a three-month residency in Rome and an Italian filmmaker a three-month residency in Berlin. The residencies are meant to enable free creative time as well as the possibility to gain insight into the respective local film industries and make new contacts.

The residency includes travel expenses and accommodation, as well as a cash allowance of € 1,200 per month. Fellows will receive professional support as needed and networking possibilities within the local film industry.

The stay in Berlin is organised and managed by the Nipkow Program.

The Medienboard and the city of Paris have established a Artist-in-Residency partnership. It offers a German filmmaker a three-month residency in Paris and an French filmmaker a three-month residency in Berlin. The residencies are meant to enable free creative time as well as the possibility to gain insight into the respective local film industries and make new contacts.

The fellowship includes travel expenses, a cash allowance of of €1,296 per month, as well as accommodation in the Cité des Arts, which the participant will rent for a monthly rate of €451. Fellows will receive professional support as needed and networking possibilities within the local film industry.

AiR Berlin – Paris – 3 Months  is an initiative of Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, the Institut Français Deutschland, and the city of Paris.

AiR Berlin - Guanajuato (Mexico)

The Berlin - Guanajuato artist-in-residence programme enables a filmmaker from Berlin-Brandenburg to live and work for two months in Guanajuato (Mexico). In return, a filmmaker from Guanajuato comes to Berlin for three months. In this way, both receive a unique opportunity to develop their skills and become familiar with the other country’s film industry. The filmmakers from Berlin-Brandenburg will have the unique opportunity to get to know Guanajuato and thus Mexico in all its many facets, and will gain insight into the country’s media and film scene. The programme is oriented toward the needs of the fellowship recipients. Representatives of Guanajuato’s film and media industry and cultural institutions are available to serve as mentors. The stay is organized by the Guanajuato International Film Festival, and is supported by the Goethe Institute Mexico. The fellowship covers travel costs and accommodation, and additionally provides a monthly cash allowance.

AiR Berlin - Hongkong (China)

The Berlin – Hong Kong artist-in-residence programme gives a filmmaker of Berlin-Brandenburg the chance to live in Hong Kong for three months, while giving a filmmaker from Hong Kong the opportunity to come to Berlin for two months. In the process, both receive a unique opportunity to develop their skills and become familiar with the other city’s film industry. The filmmaker from Berlin-Brandenburg will have the unique opportunity to come to know the city, and gain deep insight into the production landscape of Hong Kong’s film and media sector.  The programme is oriented towards the needs of the fellowship recipients. Representatives of Hong Kong’s film and media industry and cultural institutions will be available as mentors within the program and for the fellowship recipients. The Goethe Institute Hong Kong will organize participants’ stays with support from the Hong Kong International Film Festival, and will also plan and implement the programme’s events. The fellowship covers travel and accommodation costs, and provides a cash allowance.

The artist-in-residence programmes offer selected filmmakers the opportunity to gather international experience and make industry contacts, bringing together young artists from Berlin-Brandenburg and partner regions.
