Funding Guide

  • German Federal Film Board (FFA)

The German Federal Film Board (FFA) is Germany’s national film-funding organisation. It supports films of various genres at all phases of development and distribution. In addition to its own funding activities, the FFA as a service provider supervises a variety of funding programmes overseen by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media (BKM), including the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF), direct BKM funding, EURIMAGES, and the Ein Netz für Kinder initiative.

  • Funding Database by the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy

The funding database provided by the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy offers fast and easy access to funding programs maintained by the federal government, the federal states, and the EU. Various search functions and a support assistant help make the extensive range of offerings more accessible.

  • Initiative Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaft (Cultural and Creative Industries Initiative)

The German federal government’s Initiative Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaft (Cultural and Creative Industries Initiative) website offers detailed information on support and financing programmes, collected specifically with the creative industries in mind.

  • Informationszentrum Kulturförderung (German Information Center for Culture Funding)

The Deutsche Informationszentrum Kulturförderung (German Information Center for Culture Funding), a project of the Association of German Foundations, has developed a database of information on art and cultural funding in Germany. It provides an overview of awards, fellowships, competitions, and other funding opportunities.

  • Existenzgründerportal (Business Start-up Portal)

The Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy’s Existenzgründerportal (business start-up portal) is aimed particularly at start-ups, and provides information on all aspects of the business-creation process. This includes extensive information about support programs and financing.
