Early-bird ticket sales for MEDIA CONVENTION Berlin 2016 and re:publica TEN will start on November 2, 2015 at 2 pm. With the joint ticket, participants will be able to visit both May 2016 events in STATION-Berlin for the price of one. The lower-priced early-bird tickets generally sell out in just a few hours.
MEDIA CONVENTION – the international media conference in Germany’s capital region – brings distinguished figures from the audiovisual-media field and the digital world together to discuss current trends and developments in media production, new channels of media distribution, and the opportunities and limitations created by media and Internet policy. MEDIA CONVENTION 2016 will be organized by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and the Medienanstalt Berlin-Brandenburg (mabb) in cooperation with re:publica TEN, on behalf of the federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg.
MEDIA CONVENTION also has a special offer for start-ups from the capital region – emerging companies can apply for conference booths. In 2015, 150 speakers discussed current media issues in 50 different MEDIA CONVENTION sessions. International industry giants such as Netflix founder Reed Hastings and national decision-makers like ARD Chairman Lutz Marmor met with young and innovative media creators like LeFloid and PietSmiet, political activists like the members of Pussy Riot, and leading media journalists and bloggers like Stefan Niggemeier and Juliane Leopold. In total, MEDIA CONVENTION and re:publica attracted upwards of 7,000 visitors from more than 60 countries.
