Berlin-Brandenburg Celebrates: Oscar for "Bridge of Spies"
Yess, we did it again! After receiving Oscars in 2015 for "The Grand Budapest Hotel," a film funded by the Medienboard and co-produced by Studio Babelsberg has once again brought home a coveted gold statue: Steven Spielberg's "Bridge of Spies," which was shot on location at original historical sites in Berlin and Brandenburg – among others on Glienicker Bridge – was awarded the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor Mark Rylance.
Medienboard Managing Director Kirsten Niehuus: "Congratulations to Mark Rylance and the entire 'Bridge of Spies' team for their success. Thanks to this thriller shot in Berlin-Potsdam, the Glienicker Bridge has now officially gone Hollywood!"
