The Perspektive Deutsches Kino section has invited David Vajda's “Jesus Egon Christus”. The Encounters competition will feature “Bloodsuckers”, the new film by Julian Radlmaier. Barbara Wagner and Benjamin de Burca present their experimental film “One Hundred Steps” at the Berlinale Shorts and can hope for an award in the short film competition.

The series “Blackout – Morgen ist es zu spät” (“Blackout – Tomorrow it will be too late”) by Lancelot von Naso and Oliver Rihs will premiere among Upcoming Series from Germany at the Berlinale Series Market & Conference.

Stated Medienboard managing director Kirsten Niehuus: “Big thanks to the Berlinale for holding the festival during this time as well – albeit in a different way than usual. I would have liked to congratulate the film-makers of the 12 MBB-funded films in the official programme in person on their exceptional films. Hopefully we’ll make up for that in June. Then hopefully we can also celebrate the restart of cinema – there’s certainly no shortage of great films! Until then, we wish everyone health and perseverance!”
