4 prizes for MBB-funded films in Cannes! “Triangle of Sadness” wins the Golden Palm!

Berlin / Potsdam / Cannes - Fulminant conclusion to the anniversary edition of Cannes with the Golden Palm for Ruben Östlund’s MBB-funded film “Triangle of Sadness”, a co-production with Berlin-based Essential Filmproduktion. After “The Square” in 2017, Östlund wins the highest award in Cannes for the 2nd time!

The award for Best Actress in the 2022 Competition goes to Zar Amir Ebrahimi in “Holy Spider” by Iranian director Ali Abbasi, co-produced by Berlin-based One Two Films.

The MBB-funded film “Mariupolis 2” by the late film-maker Mantas Kvedaravičius receives the Jury’s Special Award at L’Œil d’Or, the Cannes Documentary Film Awards. The co-producer is Twenty Twenty Vision Filmproduktion.

With Mia Hansen-Løve’s “One Fine Morning” starring Léa Seydoux, a co-production with Razor Film, an MBB-funded film has already won Best European Film in the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs on Thursday!

Congratulations also to Vicky Krieps for the award for Best Actress in the Un Certain Regard (A Certain Glance) section in Marie Kreutzer’s “Corsage” (Komplizen Film)! The Berlin-based actress also impresses in the MBB-funded relationship drama “More than Ever” (Niko Film) by Emily Atef on the Croisette.
