5,4 million Euros of MBB funding for new film and highend series projects

PRESS RELEASE

Berlin / Potsdam - € 4.3 million of the € 5,4 million in funding go to 8 feature films and 4 new highend series projects. Hollywood is currently shooting the 5th part of the “Hunger Games” series here: For “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” Rachel Zegler and Tom Blyth will be filming on location in Berlin and Brandenburg until November - together with thousands of extras based in the capital region! The widely announced Nibelungen film “Hagen” with Jannis Niewöhner in a leading role will become a feature film as well as a series.
Laura Tonke, Corinna Harfouch, Uwe Ochsenknecht, Andres Veiel, Kirill Serebrennikov, Randa Chahoud, Faraz Shariat, Karim Aïnouz, Sara Fazilat, Falk Richter, Christoph Hochhäusler and Özgür Yildirim are also working on new, exciting cinema and series projects!

On top of that, MBB is supporting the theatrical release of 12 new films with almost 700,000 euros. The audience can look forward to the 2nd part of the box office success "The School of Magical Animals", Karoline Herfurth's comedy "Einfach mal was Schönes", Ruben Östlund's Cannes winner "Triangle of Sadness", Emily Atef's "More than ever" and Fatih Akins "Rheingold" about rap star Xatar!
