Berlin / Potsdam - Sooo much Berlin...! This time around, creator Mark-Uwe Kling is unleashing his anarchic kangaroo, Anika Decker is untangling “Liebesdings 3000” (“Love Thing 3000”), finally! Gropiusstadt Raw: sun and concrete by iconic Felix Lobrecht, created by David Wnendt, of course. The congenial novel “Wann wird es endlich wieder, wie es nie war” (“When will things finally go back to the way they never were”) by Joachim Meyerhoff becomes a congenial cinema film thanks to the direction of Sonja Heiss.

No fake! Bully is actually turning the Relotsius case into a film, the script has more than the title-giving 1,000 lines.

Berlin was also the inglorious venue of the “West Africa Conference” in 1884/85, in the wake of which the German military perpetrated the genocide of the Herero people and the suppression of the Nama uprising under their leader Jakob Morenga. Lars Kraume is adapting Uwe Timm’s novel of the same name, illuminating a dark chapter in German history.

Then there are 2 masters of their craft – now with their feature film directorial debuts: Jan Josef Liefers narrates an absurd segment on the end of the GDR with “Honecker | Holmer” and Charly Hübner brings an unusual grim reaper into the game of love and death with “Sophia, der Tod und ich” (“Sophia, Death and I”).

The Brandenburg regional series, whose name Lauchhammer says it all, offers something new for the couch, while Florian Lukas creates a monument to the game of darts in the Sky series “Die Wespe” (“The Wasp”).

In the first round of funding in 2021, Medienboard is awarding 7.8 million euros for 31 film and series projects.
