Canada Germany Digital Media Incentive: funding for 3 German-Canadian co-productions

Berlin / Potsdam / Toronto - Medienboard and Canada Media Fund (CMF) have selected three interactive digital media projects for funding of around 400,000 euros. The Canada Germany Digital Media Incentive Programme has been supporting co-productions and co-developments in the area of digital content between Canadian and German producers from the capital region for 6 years.

The following projects are receiving funding:

dA.l.ting: Internet of Flings

Honig Studios /
Red Meat Games
The game co-produced by Red Meat Games from Nova Scotia and Honig Studios will receive almost 200,000 euros in production funding, with both partners each providing half the funding.

An Empty Seat

High Road Stories Heezen & Robbins /
art et essai 
Co-production of a VR experience between the Quebec-based company art et essai and High Road Stories Heezen & Robbins. Development funding of 84,000 euros will be awarded for the title, with each partner contributing half the total.

Wildermage: The Magic of Here

ootiboo /
Wildermage Games
Games project by British Columbia-based Wildermage Games and ootiboo. The project receives 108,599 euros in development funding, with MBB contributing 48,000 euros.

The Canada Media Fund (CMF) fosters, develops, finances and promotes the production of Canadian content and applications for all audiovisual media platforms. The CMF guides Canadian content towards a competitive global environment by fostering industry innovation, rewarding success, enabling a diversity of voice and promoting access to content through public and private sector partnerships. Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg is the main institution for the film and media industry in the German capital region, represents Berlin-Brandenburg as a key media location at markets and festivals in Germany and abroad and supports cross-border and cross-industry networking. The New Media Funding division provides funding for innovative audiovisual projects (e.g., games, multiplatform content, virtual and augmented reality) and serial formats (fiction, entertainment and factual). The Film Funding division provides funding for films, high end drama series and film-related projects, advises filmmakers on financing issues, and supports the development of the film industry. Furthermore, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg provides funding for regional media-related projects and events such as prizes, competitions, festivals, events, and conferences.
