MBB new media funding: 1.3 million euros for games, XR projects and serial formats

PRESS RELEASE

Berlin / Potsdam - In its final funding session of the year, MBB new media funding is supporting 11 projects to a total amount of 1.3 million euros.

In this funding round, the games sector in particular benefits from the special funds from Berlin, which have increased funding volume to around 3 million euros. The Governing Mayor of Berlin, Franziska Giffey, supports the expansion of funding for computer games and, with her commitment, underlines the common target of developing the capital region to become the No. 1 games location => to the press release (in German).

The highest MBB funding amount for a game to date was awarded to the Berlin studio Torpor Games for their project "The Conformist". The developers also won several awards for their previous game "Suzerain". As part of its funding strategy, the MBB once again supports numerous projects by young developer studios. In addition to games, exciting XR projects and serial formats also received funding, as in every funding round.

All results can be seen in an overview!
