MBB Berlinale party & pre-Christmas industry meet-up cancelled

PRESS RELEASE

Berlin / Potsdam – Due to the current coronavirus situation, the pre-Christmas party as well as the Medienboard party on the occasion of the 2021 Berlinale will not take place as per tradition.

Kirsten Niehuus and Helge Jürgens, Medienboard general managers: “Stay safe and stay home! Given the current coronavirus situation we decided to cancel both of the parties. All of us are responsible for curbing the pandemic. We can only do this together, and unfortunately this means that all of us “together” have to go without partying for now. We are hoping for a happy end, and to see each other again soon, and healthy!”

The Medienboard party at the Ritz-Carlton hotel on the 1st Saturday of the Berlinale is among the most coveted parties held in the context of the film festival, with over 2,000 guests from film and media and its celebrated red carpet. At its pre-Christmas party, Medienboard annually bids farewell to the year together with representatives of the film and media industries, actors, creatives and business as well as politics.
