PRESS RELEASE

Berlin / Potsdam
– From an asteroid survival game to a sustainable cooking show, to an interactive holodeck, and to a virtual clubbing experience: There’s no such thing as a summer slump when it comes to the creativity of the capital region’s developers! In the current new media funding round, Medienboard supports a total of 15 games, series and VR projects. Nearly half of the sum is going to upcoming teams and graduates of Berlin’s and Brandenburg's universities to fund their first projects.

Helge Jürgens, Medienboard Managing Director New Media Funding: “We are happy to see a large portion of upcoming talent in our current funding round once again – among them the winners of the young talent award of the German Computer Game Award (DCP). The audiovisual creative industries represent an important economic factor for our location, and we support the creatives in developing new forms of entertainment and storytelling. Innovative audiovisual content is the foundation for the media location of the future.”
