Berlin / Potsdam – A strong start into the new funding year: In its first session, the new media funding supported 13 projects with 1,078,000 euros. These include many games, VR experiences and series with socially relevant topics, diverse stories and accessible content. The highest funding amount goes to “The Wagadu Chronicles” by Twin Drums, other projects will be realised by Maschinen-Mensch, Jo-Mei Games, Honig Studios, Turbokultur and Producers at Work.

The pandemic is not yet over – that is why it is all the more important to continue to support the industry and to launch new projects. In this funding round, projects with diverse stories, topics surrounding equality, accessible gaming approaches and sustainability aspects stood out in particular. These are important developments! Innovative content has all the more impact through contemporary stories that reflect our society and its conflicts!”
