14 Oscar Nominations for 3 MBB-Funded Films

Berlin / Potsdam / Los Angeles – “And the Oscar goes to …” could soon be heard in Hollywood for three films funded by MBB!
The Norwegian family drama SENTIMENTAL VALUE by Joachim Trier, produced by Komplizen Film Berlin, enters the Oscar race with a total of nine nominations: Best Picture, Best International Feature Film, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actress, two nominations for Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Film Editing.
The international co-production THE SECRET AGENT by Brazilian director Kleber Mendonça Filho, produced by Berlin-based One Two Films, has received four Oscar nominations: also for Best Picture and Best International Feature Film, as well as for Best Actor and Best Casting.
In the Visual Effects category, THE LOST BUS has received an Oscar nomination. The visual effects were largely created by the Berlin company RISE FX.
