16 MBB funded films and TV series at the Berlin International Film Festival, 5 in the main competition!

Berlin / Potsdam - Five films funded by Medienboard are competing for the Golden Bear! In Liebe, Eure Hilde by Andreas Dresen, Sterben by Matthias Glasner,L'Empire by Bruno Dumont, My Favourite Cakeby Behtash Sanaeeha and Maryam Moghaddam, and Architectonby Victor Kossakovsky.

Berlinale Special Gala will present the world premiere of Treasureby Julia von Heinz.

The festival’s Panoramasection will be screening 4 MBB-funded films and TV series: Verbrannte Erde by Thomas Arslan, The Outrun by Nora Fingscheidt, and Baldiga by Ringo Rösener and Markus Stein, as well as four episodes from the Zeit Verbrechen anthology series.

World premieres in the festival’s Generationsection include Sieger Sein by Soleen Yusef (Generation Kplus) and Ellbogen by Asli Özarslan (Generation 14plus).

In the Encounterssection, Guillaume Cailleau will present his film DIRECT ACTION.

Der Unsichtbare Zoo by Romuald Karmakar will be presented in the Forumsection, and I Don’t Want to Be Just a Memory by Sarnt Utamachote will celebrate its world premiere in the Forum Expanded section.

In addition, the new series KraNK Berlin by Fabian Möhrke and Alex Schaad has been invited to the showcase “Up Next: Germany” in the Berlinale Series Market.

Abendlandby Omer Fast will be shown in the independent Woche der Kritik.
