3 Palms for MBB-Funded Films at the Cannes Film Festival!

Berlin / Potsdam / Cannes – MBB-funded films THE SECRET AGENT and SENTIMENTAL VALUE have won three major awards in the official competition of the Cannes Film Festival!

MBB is thrilled about the Grand Prix for SENTIMENTAL VALUE by Joachim Trier, produced by Berlin-based Komplizen Film (Janine Jackowski and Jonas Dornbach).
THE SECRET AGENT took home two awards: Kleber Mendonça Filho received the Best Director Award, and lead actor Wagner Moura was honored with the Best Actor Award. Earlier in the day, THE SECRET AGENT—co-produced by Berlin-based One Two Films—also received the Prix des Cinémas Art & Essai. Producer Fred Burle was one of this year’s Producers on the Move in this fantastic Cannes edition. 🌴🌴🌴

Berlin-based director Mascha Schilinski received the Jury Prize for her film LOOKING INTO THE SUN. Congratulations also to Weydemann Bros., whose co-production THE MYSTERIOUS GAZE OF THE FLAMINGO (Diego Céspedes) was awarded in the Un Certain Regard section!
