Berlin / Potsdam - With the commitment of 6.7 million euros for 39 new film and series projects, MBB kicks off the funding season for summer shoots – a lot of filming is happening in the capital region! 

Berlin in Series: With its 5th season, Babylon Berlin gets a spectacular finale, once again featuring the brilliant ensemble led by Liv Lisa Fries and Volker Bruch. Rick Ostermann directs Hundertdreizehn, and "4 Blocks" director Özgür Yıldırım brings the coming-of-age story Schattenseite to Berlin as a series.

5 Bestsellers and a State Security Service: Mithu Sanyal's identity politics novel Identitti is being adapted into a feature film, as is Caroline Wahl's 22 Bahnen. The impressive Woodwalkers adaptation is getting a second part featuring pumas and a star-studded cast. Daniel Brühl will appear in the Kehlmann adaptation Lichtspiel. The Noise of Time, which was successfully presented in Cannes, stars August Diehl and Andrea Riseborough as the married couple Shostakovich. Additionally, Faraz Shariat is tackling the state security service in a promising new project featuring Chen Emilie Yan and Sandra Hüller.
