5 MBB funded films on Oscars shortlist

Berlin / Potsdam / Los Angeles - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has published their Oscars shortlist. Five MBB funded films – FOUR DAUGHTERS, THE PROMISED LAND, THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS & SNAKES, THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER and ASTEROID CITY – can all now hope for a nomination!

In the International Feature Film category, we have our fingers crossed for:

FOUR DAUGHTERS by Kaouther Ben Hania (Twenty Twenty Vision Filmproduktion), which will be representing Tunisia.

THE PROMISED LAND by Nikolaj Arcel (Zentropa)
- which will be representing Denmark

The Academy placed this film on the Documentary Feature Film shortlist:

FOUR DAUGHTERS by Kaouther Ben Hania (Twenty Twenty Vision Filmproduktion)

In the Makeup and Hairstyling category, this MBB funded film can hope for a nomination:

THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER by André Ovredal (Studio Babelsberg)

In the category Music (Original Song) the Academy shortlisted:

ASTEROID CITY by Wes Anderson (Studio Babelsberg)

THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLADS OF THE SONGBIRDS & SNAKES by Francis Lawrence (Studio Babelsberg)

The presentation of the Academy Awards will take place in Los Angeles on March 10, 2024.
