6 XR Experiences from Berlin-Brandenburg at Venice Immersive!

Berlin / Potsdam – Strong presence from Berlin-Brandenburg at Venice Immersive, the Extended Reality section of the Venice International Film Festival: Four XR projects from the region have been selected for the competition, with two additional experiences included in the official program. In addition, MBB is organizing the networking event "Meet the German Creators" at Venice Immersive and is taking a leading role in an XR panel discussion.

Venice Immersive is celebrating its 10th edition as part of the Venice International Film Festival. From August 28 to September 3, 2025, the festival’s immersive media section — ranging from AR and VR to installations and live performances — will take place on Lazzaretto Vecchio Island (Venice Immersive Island). The annual XR competition features up to 30 immersive projects presented as world or international premieres.
Program highlights on Immersive Island:
August 31
- 4:30 PM – The Spatial Shift: Mixed Reality and Its Redefined Canvas – Panel discussion by German Films in collaboration with FFF, FMS, MOIN, MDM, and MBB
- 5:30 PM – Meet the German Creators – Panel and cocktail event hosted by MBB
The films in this year’s Venice line-up will be announced on July 22. Fingers crossed for the MBB-supported productions!
