Berlin / Potsdam - 4 MBB-funded films win at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival: STERBEN, L'EMPIRE, DIRECT ACTION, and MY FAVOURITE CAKE are awarded a total of 8 prizes.
The Silver Bear for Best Screenplay goes to STERBEN by Matthias Glasner (Port au Prince). L'EMPIRE by Bruno Dumont (Red Balloon Film) wins the Silver Jury Bear.
The Encounters Jury awards DIRECT ACTION by Guillaume Cailleau and Ben Russell (CaSk Films) as Best Film, additionally receiving a Special Mention from the Documentary Award Jury.
The independent juries of the 74th Berlinale also honor films supported by MBB: STERBEN by Matthias Glasner wins the Gilde Filmpreis in the competition and the Reader's Jury Prize from the Berliner Morgenpost. MY FAVOURITE CAKE (Watchmen Productions) wins the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury and the Prize of the FIPRESCI Jury Competition.
