Florian Graf, Head of the Berlin Senate Chancellery and Chairman of the MBB Supervisory Board:
“Cinema has a tradition of over 100 years in Berlin-Brandenburg — and the film capital loves the big screen. I’m particularly pleased that we can support our unique cinema cultural landscape with the most highly endowed regional program prize in the country. What’s especially great this year: Berlin is providing an additional €1.5 million for cinema funding and hopefully the future Cinema Program. Congratulations to all the award-winning film theaters!”
Sarah Duve-Schmid, CEO of MBB:
“We celebrate cinema and the fantastic cinema creators from Berlin and Brandenburg — they deserve the applause! Their outstanding programs captivate us time and again and draw us into the cinema halls. With the Cinema Program Prizes, we honor their tireless commitment to audiences and their passion for film.
