Berlin / Potsdam – At its latest funding session for short and experimental films, MBB has awarded funding to five short films as part of its talent development program and to 13 projects intended for museums, galleries, film festivals, and art festivals. This funding is a key pillar supporting the internationally acclaimed experimental film scene in the art metropolis of Berlin.

As a result, new projects by renowned film artists such as Hito Steyerl, Julian Rosefeldt, Lemohang Mosese, Constanza Macras, Ute Aurand, Rosa Barba, Nina Fischer & Maroan el Sani, Bernhard Sallmann, and Pol Merchan will be realized in the German capital region.

A total of 54 projects were submitted, requesting funding of €2.02 million. Of these, 29 projects were directed by women, one by a non-binary director, and 24 by men. Funding was awarded to 10 projects with female directors and eight projects with male directors.
