MBB supports 25 film and series projects with €5.6 million
Berlin / Potsdam – At its second meeting, the film funding committee awarded more than €5.6 million to 25 production and development projects. The funding supports the full breadth of filmmaking at the location – ranging from feature films and high-end series to documentary films and two AI experiments, as well as family entertainment for all ages.
Among those selected are new projects by Helene Hegemann, Matthias Glasner, Aoife McArdle, Katja von Garnier and Dominik Graf, as well as films and series featuring Jella Haase, Lars Eidinger, Sandra Hüller, August Diehl, Corinna Harfouch, Devid Striesow, David Kross, Julius Weckauf, Katja Riemann and Lea Drinda.

A total of 68 projects were submitted, including 14 documentary films, with total funding applications amounting to €16.7 million. Funding has been granted to 19 production projects, 11 of them directed by women, and to 6 development projects by or involving a female writer.
