Berlin / Potsdam – New media funding awards over 1 million euros to 13 serial formats, games and VR experiences. This time around, the focus is on extensive support for series at more than 700,000 euros, among others in cooperation with broadcasting partner RTLZWEI, as well as on promoting projects of newly founded Berlin game studios. A total of 1,108,500 euros will go to 13 projects, among them 2 factual entertainment formats for RTLZWEI (Reeperbahn Crime Stories, Endlich Klartext!) as well as other series, games and VR projects, among others by LOOKS Filmproduktionen, Story House Productions, Weltrecorder Story and B.vision Media.

Helge Jürgens, Medienboard managing director for new media funding: “We are delighted to see even more series from the capital region – especially new formats for our broadcasting partner RTLZWEI. There is also new momentum for Berlin-Brandenburg as a games location. National games funding increases application volumes at MBB and ramps up spending in the region. In this context, it is also exciting to see an increase in the number of new games companies being established and settling at the location. We’ve already noticed this positive development – and supported it: many projects by new studios are receiving games funding!”
