Berlin / Potsdam – Final New Media funding session under the current model: 25 games, XR projects, and serial formats will receive a total of €3.8 million in funding from Medienboard.

A wide range of new series formats is being supported – from documentaries and comedy to children's animation, coming-of-age stories, and true crime. The docuseries LA BELLE – DIE SCHÖNE UND DIE BOMBE explores a moving chapter of Berlin’s history. A new storytelling concept is being supported with DA FAM, developed by the production company behind the hit series DOPPELHAUSHÄLFTE.

In the games category, PROJECT VANGUARD—an expansion of the award-winning serious game SUZERAIN—and BETTER THAN US, the follow-up project from DCP-winning studio Little Bat Games, are receiving funding. An up-and-coming development team will be able to realize DUNG SLINGER, which has already been nominated for the German Developer Award.

In this round, the XR and Innovative Audiovisual Content category is backing especially forward-thinking projects: from new rendering techniques in AM INNEREN RAND and WHAT THE FOX to the blending of various techniques in LIVING WITH THE SNOW LEOPARDS. In the interactive mixed-reality experience ATMOSPHERE, Wim Wenders takes on his first XR directorial role.
