Media Barometer 2025: Results Published

The results of the 2025 Media Barometer on the topic: Innovation or Stagnation: How Competitive and AI-Ready Are the Film, Games, and MediaTech Companies in Berlin-Brandenburg? have been released. Many Creative Technology companies in the capital region view the current situation as challenging. However, AI is largely seen as a positive factor for business development, and investments in AI-driven technologies are regarded as opportunities.

At the public presentation of the Media Barometer, political representatives, MBB, and medianet demonstrated their strong unity in supporting the industry.

Helge Jürgens, CEO for New Media Funding at MBB:

“The Media Barometer makes one thing clear: the audiovisual creative industries are facing significant challenges. To stimulate innovation and growth, financial and structural conditions urgently need to be improved. The barometer clearly identifies the key areas for action – reduced bureaucracy, reliable funding structures, and tax incentives. Regarding the games industry: this future-oriented sector, with its high level of technological sophistication and already AI-optimized production workflows in many areas, is already having a positive impact on other industries. The Berlin-Brandenburg media hub has great potential for growth and competitiveness.”

The study was commissioned by medianet berlinbrandenburg and conducted and presented by Goldmedia, supported by MBB and the regional investment banks IBB (Berlin) and ILB (Brandenburg). A total of 185 decision-makers from Berlin and Brandenburg’s Creative Technology sector took part in the representative survey, which was conducted between February 11 and March 25, 2025.
